Green Leaf Restaurant

Green Leaf is close to the Gokulam area, perhaps a 15 minute walk from the coconut stand.  The food is good and they pretty much respect the Indian timings for dinner and lunch, but they have "snacks" all day long (chineese noodles and dosha).

The place is clean but I would not drink their water as I did not see it being fully filtered.  For what I heard it tends to be very noisy at night.

Green Leaf

A five minute Rickshaw drive from the shala or a 20 minute walk, Green Leaf is spacious although "noisy" at night.

We visited during the afternoon snack time, when full menus are not available, so had dosha and some chinese noodles.

The Stand Up Cafee on Main Street

Indian food and eating while standing up.  As of 2011 I noticed they also added one sit down table.

Just do not drink the water that is on the table because it is not filtered and everyone shares, could be dangerous.

The Gokul Chats

Gokul Chats is the real thing, a real South Indian restaurant where the doshas are, well, see for yourself, huge!

It is buffet style, and the food is good!  If you do go, try the smoothies, because they are delilcious!

Rishi's Cafe

Rishi's Cafe is run by all Indian women.  You come in and they serve you the food that they have prepared for the day, and is pretty much available from 1 to 7 PM every day except Sundays.

They usually serve an abundance of chapatis with some good Indian varieties of vegetables.

There is also wireless and a separate room with computers in case you did not bring your laptop with you.
